Fretcraft CP

Fretcraft CP brings the chord engine of the Fretcraft app into a real plug-in, with two ways of working. ✦ Generate composes a progression in one of ten styles — nine genres plus Free, tied to none — and writes it as a phrase: every chord has a job, the genre’s pattern runs the whole length, and the cadence lands the way that genre lands. ✎ Build lets you stack chords by hand (root + quality), each voiced closest to the one before, with Roman numerals inferred from the harmonic analysis.

You set the character. The energy curve shapes the harmony: where it rises the chords get tenser, where it falls they settle — and it can be switched off. Surprise sets how unexpected the choices are, and puts the unusual chords mid-phrase, not on the close. Extended sets how many chords carry 7ths, 9ths and 11ths. The bass walks through inversions instead of jumping between root positions, the top note follows the curve, and a part written after another — the chorus after the verse — starts from where that one ended.

The voicings are guitar voicings, not piano stacks, and they are worked out for the tuning you are in: nineteen named tunings — Drop D, DADGAD, the open tunings, baritone, New Standard and more — or your own, plus a real capo. The open-string shapes that only exist in DADGAD are the ones you get in DADGAD.

Audition with a plucked-string model, the same kind of engine as the Fretcraft app; stream the MIDI to your host in time with the transport, looping; drag the progression onto a track with the “Drag MIDI to your DAW” strip, or export a Standard MIDI File. The library keeps your progressions, presets and songs, survives updates, and has Back up and Restore.
